Jim has successfully led a broad range of our firm’s most recognizable projects. He works throughout all phases of project development; coordinating project teams throughout design, document production, and contract administration. Jim is President of Nicholson Sheffield Architects.
Jim takes a collaborative approach to design, working closely with clients to ensure that their projects are tailored to their needs. This approach involves developing a comprehensive understanding of how a finished project will be used, and how its design may be refined and improved throughout the course of the work.
Jim graduated from the Architectural Technology Program at Fanshawe College in 1991. He worked with our firm before attending the University of Toronto for his Professional Bachelor of Architecture with Honours. After graduating and working for a number of award-winning firms in Toronto, Jim returned to the firm in 2000, becoming an associate in 2004, and partner in 2007.
Jim is active in the community, committing time to a variety of not-for-profit organizations and committees. He is a past chair of the City of London Urban Design Peer Review Panel, past President on the Board of Directors for the London District Construction Association, and current Municipal Regulatory Liaison for the London Society of Architects. Jim offers a background in sustainable design. He is a LEED Accredited Professional, and previously taught the LEED NC course at Fanshawe College.
