RBC Place London

Since 1993, the RBC Place London, (formerly the London Convention Centre) has been a cultural hub and premier meeting place for a variety of conventions, conferences, and tradeshows. The Centre has catered to regional and national events, requiring its renovation to accommodate vast functions throughout the year. Thus, efforts to modernize the facility and execute major reprogramming of the building’s main floor were designed to better serve their clients and the London community. The RBC Place London wanted to provide a location of greater adaptability. NSA’s role was to develop a flexible central space composed of moveable partitions, while surrounding it with new and renovated salons. The design offered various configurations of pre-function and meeting spaces while prioritizing daylight and transparency of the central area. The reception services and its finishes were refreshed for an updated feel; each showcasing regional geographical themes that are both practical and serviceable. Hidden from guest views, the back of house was reconfigured to expand the level of customer service to the convention centre. The renovations include staging and additional storage space, enabling staff to have more flexibility catering to guests while maintaining their renowned high-quality service. In addition, the project included brand new AV, lighting, room controls, and mechanical infrastructure upgrades. Digital wayfinding and digital displays were integrated into arrival spaces and the salons, giving a much more modern technological feel.
